Chicken curry (without oil)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg chicken with bones
  • 6-7 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 2 cloves
  • 3 tbsp curd
  • 1.5 tbsp ginger chopped/julienne
Method
  • In a kadhai/wok, put in the chicken, crushed garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green cardamoms and cloves along with 2 cups of water. Put on a medium heat for 15-20 mins, occasionally stirring.
  • When the water is dried up almost 75% (chicken should be 75% cooked by now), add the curd and mix well. Fry for another 5 mins.
  • Add the ginger, mix well and fry for another 10-15 mins.
Adjust the gravy by adding water or frying for another 5 mins. If you want the chicken to be spicy, add 2-3 slit green chillies.
