Ingredients
•2 green banana, skin peeled and cut into 3 pieces
•1 medium potato cut into halves
•1 medium beet root, coarsely chopped (so kababs will have a bite in it)
•1 small onion finely chopped
•1 green chilli finely chopped
•2 tsp ginger garlic paste
•1 tsp roasted cumin powder
•2 tsp roasted coriander powder
•1 tsp red chilli powder
•1 tsp turmeric powder
•Black salt as per taste
•2 tsp chat masala
•Salt as per taste
•Finely chopped almonds, cashews etc any dry fruits 15-20 pieces
•1 tsp ghee
•1 tbsp lightly roasted besan powder
•Chopped green coriander leaves
•Juice of half lemon
•Oil as required
Process
•Boil the green banana and potato. Cool it and mash it coarsely with a little salt. Heat a charcoal till red hot, put in a small bowl and put it in the container containing the mash. Add 1 tsp ghee over it and cover the container. Leave it until all the smoke is gone.
•In a pan, add oil. When hot, add onions, green chillies and saute it for 2-3 mins. Add ginger garlic paste, cumin, coriander, red chilli powder and turmeric and fry for another 3-4 minutes. Add coarsely chopped beet root and saute well for another 3-4 minutes. Take out and let it cool.
•Back to the container containing the mash. Add the mixture from above step and mix well. Add besan powder, chat masala, finely chopped dry fruits, lemon juice and chopped green coriander leaves. Mix well and adjust for black and white salt.
•Make small balls out of the mixture and flatten it into kabab size. Put a whole almond in the middle. Shallow fry, will take some 2-3 mins each side.
•Dish out hot with your favorite chutney.
